OUCH!!!! I swear, I never thought it would happen to me! It did. Thank goodness I caught it the same night it processed through my checking account.
I've been keeping a close eye on my account, as I'm supposed to be getting a couple of refunds.....well, when I went in to check on them, (nope, THOSE haven't processed yet, of course!) I noticed a withdrawal that I knew neither my hubby nor I had done. Boy, was I in a hurry to contact the bank, but at 9:20pm, that's not possible.
So first thing after my bus route I was at the bank when they opened. They said I had to contact the company. So I did. In the bank parking lot. While I was talking to her, I asked if she would talk to the lady at the bank. She did. So the company verified it was a fraudulent charge, and the bank did up the 'dispute' papers, then I zipped on over to the police station and filled out a report there, also.
Since the company said it was across state lines, it's federal. They couldn't tell me the address, but she could tell me that.
The bank was really wonderful about it, and while she did up the paperwork, she also deposited back to my account the money taken. Whew! I work hard for my money, and knowing someone else is working hard for it too, it JUST WRONG!!!!!!!
How they ended up with my information beats me, but I have a good idea of
where they got it. Of course, I'll never be able to prove it, but shit happens. Just so long as this is the 'only!' It's a real bitch being without my debit card........
So now alls well here in the boonies, thank goodness!!!!
Now, on to more fun stuff. Not.
My hubby and I switched vehicles last week. I had his truck to get hay, and he used my car.
Well, when I left for work this morning and, out of habit, checked the gas gauge, I had a hissy fit. Yep, it WAS ON EMPTY!!! And I mean EMMMMTEEEEY! The little white thing was on the LEFT SIDE of the YELLOW.
Needless to say, I called the hubby and was not a happy camper....it's approx 35 miles to work....and asked if there was gas in the jugs at home. Nope.
So I hung up. Without saying goodbye. (my bad)
And called the boss.
He didn't laugh, but it was close.
He said to just try and get as far as I could, then call and they'd come get me.
I was on pins and needles the whole time. BUT!! I made it all the way to work! I don't know how, but it was great! not getting stranded on the side of the highway.
Hubby called me a couple of times, being 'kissy' and since I don't (usually!) hold a grudge, he forgave me for hanging up on him.
THEN, yep, it gets better! I have two bus routes am and pm. The first one was fine, but my bus quit on me at the beginning of the second one.....so I ended up running 30 minutes late. LOL
They managed to get my bus back to the bus garage, so hopefully it will be fixed when I get back there this afternoon.
I sure do hope the rest of the day goes soooooomthly!!! *g*
******************UPDATE****************
******
Did I say 'soooooomthly?' Hmphf. I wish. Good Ole Murphy was very active today. I am now keeping my fingers (AND TOES!) crossed to help 'nudge' the 'sooooomthly' along.
My bus was done, so I took off in it, and after picking up the 5th/6th graders, headed over to the High School. Well, while I had my back turned facing towards the back, making sure the kids all sat where they are supposed to, a parent came up to my doors and let me know I had a MAJOR anti-freeze leak......grrrr!!!
So I had to take a full bus load of kiddies, heh, back to the bus garage to switch to a different bus. THAT bus had a buzzer that wouldn't SHUT UP!!! Double Grrrr!!
FINALLY, part way thru my route, it stopped that totally irritating noise! (Yeah, yeah, I know you're not supposed to drive with a buzzer on, but the
mechanic made me do it!!! *lol* He really did, too. Some buses JUST DO THAT. This is one of them. But it sure does 'get up & go!!!' *G* JUST TEASING. It does get going faster then my bus though, which is nice.
I was still 15 minutes late picking up my second run.........
I checked after I came back in and my bus is ready to go! Yeah! I LOVE MY BUS!!! Slow poke and all. It handles so much nicer, and the seat isn't one of those new 'better for your back' ones that poke you in the lower back and give you a back ache.
I sure, hmm, well, yeah, that good ole Murphy takes a looooong nap tomorrow. And the day after. And the day after that. You get the picture! *g*
For now, I'm going to take the dogs out and then REST!!!!!!
